Tools Museum (Marlas Village) & tour Marlas village to the quarry of Machaira (Green Marble)
A visit to the tools museum of Marlas village under the guidance of Yorgos Vidos. The quarrying section is completed by following the everyday route of the quarriers from the trails that connect the village of Marlas with the green marble quarry of Machaira, with the help of Manthos Prelorentzos. Yorgos Vidos explains the quarriers route through landmarks and other relevant information.

Three geologist researchers present the “Geology of Exo Meria” through various topics
Dr Konstantinos Soukis, geologist and researchers Vasiliki Anevlavi and Alkis Sideridis presented the geological peculiarity of Exo Meria and the island through particularly interesting topics related to rocks formation, archaeometry and the use of Tinos marble from ancient times to today.

The director of the school, Leonidas Chalepas, presents the historical context of the School of Marble Crafts and the school’s marble workshop where the marble is being processed. In the museum of marble crafts Yorgos Vidos shares his years of experience and knowledge of marble and its techniques. Jessica Siemens Chalepa accompanies the visit in English.
